As-Salaamu Alaikum and Eid Mubarak (again)!
I hope you all had a wonderful time at the community Eid picnic. Masha’ Allah, we had a terrific turnout. To see the wide grins and joys on the faces of the little ones, was more than worth it. Special attractions like cotton candy, face painting, and of course, the Moonwalk made their day. For those who could not attend, we missed you. BBQ chicken and burgers were absolutely delicious. These were definitely the juiciest – far better than any place in the whole wide world (my opinion). So were the “pani-puri” desserts, rice, etc.
Special thanks to all the volunteers for their help in successfully organizing the picnic. Thanks also to all those who donated the food, sponsored the various events, and helped in serving. With the help of Allah (swt) and the great support of our community, we made over $1,700 which included $450 in donations. The money collected will go a long way in paying the expenses of our center. For those who still want to donate, remember your donations are tax deductible. You may bring your contributions on the following two activities planned in the coming weeks. These are Eid-ul-Ghadeer and Eid-ul-Mubahila. Or, you may donate during Muharram and through the rest of the year.
Please remember to make a du’a for all those who had volunteered today and are actively involved in the affairs of the center. For those who wish to participate in future activities, please feel free to contact any of the board member. We definitely need any help we may get.

Insha’Allah Ta’ala, Az-Zahra would like to invite you and your family to join us for the Picnic Celebration for Eid and Wiladat Imam Ali Un-Naqi (a.s.) on Saturday, September 17th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Az-Zahra Center.
There will be activities for children like Moon-Walk, cotton candy, face painting, and balloon creations.
For fundraising, we will sell tickets. Each ticket is one dollar. One or more tickets can be used to pay for food. If you would like to make a donation or sign up for an automatic monthly donation, this would be a great time to do so. If the weather does not co-operate, we will try to hold the activities inside the center. However please check the Az-Zahra website on the day of the event in case there are any changes.
